Scrabble Letter Point Values
Essential Two-Letter Scrabble Words
Memorizing two-letter words is the single biggest improvement you can make to your Scrabble game. They let you create parallel plays, use difficult tiles, and score from multiple words in one turn.
Q Without U Words
Don't get stuck with the Q tile! These valid Scrabble words use Q without needing a U:
QI, QADI, QAID, QANAT, QAT, QOPH, QORMA, QWERTY, TRANQ, SHEQEL, QINTAR, QINDAR, QABALAH, QADI, QAID
Scrabble Strategy Tips
1. Use all 7 tiles for a 50-point bonus: Called a "bingo," playing all 7 tiles in one turn earns a massive 50-point bonus. Always check if you can use all your letters before settling for a shorter word.
2. Play on premium squares: Triple Word Score (TW) and Triple Letter Score (TL) squares can multiply your score dramatically. Position high-value letters like Q, Z, X, and J on letter multipliers.
3. Use hooks and extensions: Adding a single letter to an existing word (like turning CAT into CATS or SCAT) lets you score for both the new word and any perpendicular words created.
4. Balance your rack: Keep a good mix of vowels and consonants. The ideal rack has 2-3 vowels and 4-5 consonants. Exchange tiles if your rack is unbalanced.
5. Block your opponent: If the board has an open Triple Word Score, consider playing defensively to prevent your opponent from accessing it.
